About Jay S. Duker

Jay S. Duker is an Ophthalmologist and Director of the New England Eye Center at Tufts University School of Medicine.  Dr. Duker specializes in both medical and surgical diseases of the posterior segment. His primary surgical interests include retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and posterior segment trauma. Purpose: To develop a semi-automated method to visualize structures of interest (SoI) along their contour within three-dimensional, spectral domain optical coherence tomography (3D SD-OCT) data, without the need for segmentation. Methods: Using two SD-OCT devices (an ultrahigh resolution prototype of our own design and Cirrus OCT (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Dublin, CA)), we obtained 3D SD-OCT data within 6x6x1.4 mm and 6x6x2 mm volumes, respectively, centered on the fovea in healthy ... 5. Projection OCT fundus imaging for visualizing outer retinal pathology in non-exudative age related macular degeneration

BJO Online (Jul 27 2008) Ophthalmology Explore Article

Aims: To demonstrate ultrahigh resolution, three-dimensional optical coherence tomography (3D-OCT) and projection OCT fundus imaging for enhanced visualization of outer retinal pathology in non-exudative age related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods: A high-speed, ultrahigh 3.5 µm resolution OCT prototype instrument was developed for the ophthalmic clinic. 83 patients with non-exudative AMD were imaged. Projection OCT fundus images were generated from 3D-OCT data by selectively summing different retinal depth levels. Results were ... (Read Full Article)
