About University of Oulu

University of Oulu is an international scientific community known for high-quality research and education that provides experts for demanding tasks on both national and international level. The University promotes well-being and education in Northern Finland and is a significant player in the Finnish and European re-search based system of innovation and education. Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques Laboratory at the University of Oulu, Finland.  Optoelectronics and measurement tehniques laboratory is specialized in demanding electronic applications. The laboratory is a member in Infotech Oulu.  Laboratory has a long history of measuring human vitalities. Presently it focuses on optical, non-invasive blood glucose measurements. Main scattering materials under research are pulp and paper. The newest major equipment purchase, a femtosecond laser, is for this kind of optical material research.  Lower in resources but active research fields are electronic testing technique, where embedded testing techniques are developed and short range devices enabling wireless ubiquitous remote monitoring.  Laboratory made a breakthrough on printable photonics and electronics as a professor from FinDiPro-program was appointed to laboratory on that field.  The variety of applications has lead to co-operation. Not only with other laboratories within the university, but also on global scale. Research teams are international and foreign specialist visit the laboratory on regular basis.  The laboratory has EMC research facilities.
